Jani sent us the basics for the update today, as we are still out of town until Monday! Not much happened; it was another building day... always a good thing!
TODAY- JoAnne was stable throughout the day, comfortable and definitely resting this morning. This is due to the paryalytic medication they'd given her to promote stillness, allowing her recent abdominal closing to heal properly. They discontinued the medication this afternoon, as she was doing well, and they didn't want her to be immobile too long... all moving forward, which is good.
TONIGHT- This evening she was moving her arms, shoulders and head a little, wiggling her foot a bit, though not waking up. As the paralytic wears off, they will begin feeding her again to her stomach (rather than an IV drip), but will have to suspend it again at midnight tomorrow in prep for surgery Monday. Lots of back and forth, all this is. Real food for her to process is better than IV fluids, but she manages fine, bottom line, and we're hoping that the more days in between her wound cleansings will eventually lead to more consistent food.
BACK TO BASICS- Jani & Price say that JoAnne looks good, has a normal temp today, and thank goodness she's getting some rest! :)
Much love and talk soon,
Team JoJo
