Another lovely update from Jani, who was with JoAnne most of the day
today. Kelty and I were able to check in morning and afternoon, but got
quite a bit of catch-up done in between. See below for Jani's updates!

Today JoAnne had another trip to the OR and her belly was closed
completely, her hip wound vac was changed and her hip inspected, and all
went well, according to our great nurse Charity. There was a change for
us all, though, in that we have never seen JoAnne wake up after a
surgery; she's always gone in sleeping, and continued after. Wow!
After-surgery confusion and paranoia are amazing! She got some meds to
help her clear the sedatives, and she slept after all. Her new-found
semi-clarity will return tomorrow, we hope!
Details:
Belly: The wound had been for the most part closed,
but still had a wound vac. Doctor Ramzy decided it was a good idea to
close her up and get rd of the wound vac. Yay! This means a good seal for healing, and no more uncomfortable wound vac changes.
Hip: Wash-out (lovely erudite medical term, no?) and wound vac change; looked good and will take a few more, we understand.
Docs: We weren't able to talk directly to docs today, so we hope to catch them
on rounds tomorrow, and get the full scoop on the little infections
they found in the scan yesterday. There was a chance they would just
leave them and use antibiotic to treat them...we'll ask and get back to you all on that.
Tomorrow: As it was a procedure day, PT and ST and OT didn't make an appearance. Tomorrow will be busy!
Keep on sending your Top 5's- they've been so great...
Much love to you all,
Team JoJo
