Day 11 // We Are Team JoJo

Hey guys,

See below for a few updates!

BLOG- This will be my last email to you all, as I've moved everything over to a BLOG! Yes, a blog, which will allow you to check in on things whenever you like, make comments to the posts, etc. It'll also allow me to post other fodder, photos and brief anecdotes of our experience here at Emanuel, etc. Many thanks to Kelty for designing/launching that! I'll continue to post a detailed medical update every evening, just as I have been with emails, and for those of you who are not fans of blogs and would prefer my updates to be in email form, I'm happy to do this! Just email me back that you'd prefer it.

POST-OP- As we mentioned yesterday, JoAnne's amputation and tracheostomy procedures were both successful. She's come down with a bit of a fever since then, and is still bleeding a little bit from her leg surgery, but they believe this to be normal, considering what her body has gone through. They'll continue to monitor this and make adjustments as needed, and will let us know if anything is abnormal.

MEDS/ LABS ETC.- The new sedative she's on (Versed) has allowed her to relax and breathe comfortably. Her WBC has been coming down a bit, which is good- it had shot up to 35 (15 pts higher than "high") a few days before her procedure and has slowly been balancing out. Her blood pressure and lung function are also stable, and the doctors and nurses are again extremely impressed by JoAnne's stamina (we all know this is just typical JoAnne). :)

More updates to come as we learn more about her healing, their imminent attempts to bring her closer to consciousness, etc. Thank you all again for being such steadfast supporters to her and us. We could not and would not be where we are today without you!!

LOVE YOU ALL!

Signing off...

Hannah, Price, Kelty & Jani
