Hey guys,
It's been three months since JoAnne came to Portland and took ill. What a wild ride it's been, and we are all so grateful for her recovery and your continued support and love!
We found out this week that JoAnne will likely fly home to Barcelona within the next few weeks! The flight arrangement process through her insurance company has been a long one, but things have all of a sudden been moving very quickly, and all of her doctors believe she is healthy enough to be transferred to a Barcelona hospital, followed by rehabilitation when those doctors see fit. WAHOO!! More details on that as we learn them...
As exciting this next big step is for JoAnne, she has been thinking a lot about what the last three months have involved, and who has been responsible for her survival and recovery. It began with the ICU staff that first month, and JoAnne visited them on Monday! Nurses immediately came rushing towards her, smiling in disbelief that she looked so healthy and radiant, as it has been two months since they moved her to the TRACU, finally bringing her to consciousness. They were all so excited to finally meet her, and although she didn't remember them, thanked them all profusely for such wonderful care and support of her and her family. It was a pretty special moment; some of the nurses even teared up a bit! :)
We may return to the ICU in the next few days to say hello and farewell to more of the incredible staff... Jani is here for the Thanksgiving weekend, and we're sure she would also love to visit the ICU (a place holding somewhat stressful, traumatic memories) in these renewed, happy circumstances.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all, and thank you again for your fantastic care and support these last few months; it has meant so much to us and to JoAnne. We love you!
xo Team JoJo

Como me alegro de ir leyendo todo el proceso va hacia adelante. Ya comente en su momento que podrias escribir un libro... Pero ahora creo que sera una Enciclopedia... :) :)

I'm in tears!! We really have a LOT to be thankful for this season. I am truly blown away by AJ.. that women has more strength and gusto than anyone I know! I love our big family so much and am eternally grateful for my wonderful cousin duo. You girls have really been amazing these last months and I know that AJ has made such a fast recovery because she's had you there every step of the way cheering her on (and restraining her when necessary..) Love you girls!
